Hidden Gems of the Space Coast
By Athena Sasso
The Cocoa Beach Surf Museum is working with the Brevard County Tourist Development Council to identify the hidden gems of Brevard County’s surf culture and lifestyle.
Currently, the TDC’s Hidden Gems program includes seven half-day to full-day self-guided tours of nature, historic, archaeological, and space-related sites throughout the county. These self-guided adventures are designed to acquaint visitors with the areas of Brevard that might be a little off the beaten path; the adventures that appeal to travelers who enjoy experiencing a destination the way locals do. Eco-tours, wildlife, history, space… and surfing!
We would like to have your input to identify the hidden gems of surfing culture. Don’t worry, we aren’t asking you to give up your secret break; just to share your local knowledge to the special type of adventurer you like to be when you travel.
If you have suggestions, please email them to Tony Sasso at: surfscout71@aol.com. And if you’d like to see what you’ve been missing in your own back yard, visit http://spacecoasthiddengems.com/
